About the Event

The North Little Rock Maker Faire is a one-day event hosted by the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub on Saturday, May 16th, from 10 am–4 pm. Maker Faire combines science, art and technology to celebrate do-it-yourself creativity and tinkering. Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, entrepreneurs, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these "makers" come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.

Modeled after the original Maker Faire (www.makerfaire.com) — known as "the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth" — the North Little Rock version will be a family-friendly festival of invention and resourcefulness featuring robots, DIY science and technology, alternative energy, bicycles, unique hand-made crafts, music and local food, and educational workshops, installations, demonstrations, and competitions. Admission is free.

Maker Faire is organized by MAKE Magazine and supported by O'Reilly Media. MAKE is the first magazine devoted entirely to Do-It-Yourself (DIY) technology projects. MAKE unites, inspires, informs, and entertains a growing community of resourceful people who undertake amazing projects in their backyards, basements, and garages. MAKE celebrates your right to tweak, hack, and bend any technology to your will.

Besides the magazine and the faire, MAKE is: * a vital online stream of news and projects, blog.makezine.com; * a retail outlet for kits and books, theMaker Shed; * a steady stream of fun and instruction via our YouTube channel; * Make: Projects, a library of projects with step-by-step instructions * a book publishing imprint with best-in-category titles on introductions to electronics, Raspberry Pi, Arduino and more.
